Are you a dance maker based in Ireland, interested in taking part in an intensive choreography workshop and developing your international profile and connections? Artists Encounter Dublin might be for you. Applications are now open and will close on 15 May 2024 at midnight (CET time).
Aerowaves Europe is inviting 10 dance makers based in Ireland to participate in an intensive capacity building programme which includes the presentation of three international works from Aerowaves selections, a workshop to explore dramaturgical tools, and a facilitated talk.
The three international works are:
• Silvia Gribaudi’s A corpo Libero (Aerowaves 2010))
• Eva Recacha’s Because I Can (BIC) performed by Lauren Potter (Aerowaves 2023)
•Jean-Baptiste Baele’s Nabinam (Aerowaves(2023)
The works have all been part of past Spring Forward Festivals and will be presented at Dance Ireland in studio versions and settings. These works all bring autobiographical elements and, in different ways, question societal attitudes to non conforming bodies on stage, offering a rich context for conversation and exchange both conceptually and compositionally.
The workshops will take place at Dance Ireland from 4-8 Nov 2024.
It will start from shared physical practices led by the choreographers and Lauren Potter and will continue with the analysis of the works, unveiling and exploring dramaturgical and compositional tools. The project brings additional expertise by involving renowned international dramaturg Monica Gillette and facilitators to help contextualise the works and connect to the practices of the participants.
Participants should attend all activities from 10am-8.30pm on Monday 4 November (when the performances will be presented) and 10am-6pm from 5-8 November.
Aerowaves Europe is offering two bursaries of €750 each to support the participation of artists who live more than 75Km from Dublin.

The deadline to apply is Wednesday 15 May 2024.
