Arts and Cultural Sector Coffee Morning: Masterclass with Annie Ryan

Coffee morning for individuals, organisations and venues from across the sector promoting the mental health and wellbeing services available

About this Event

In partnership with Equity, Theatre and Dance NI (TDNI) will be hosting our fourth coffee morning to promote the mental health and well-being services available to members. Joining us for the Coffee Morning this month is Annie Ryan.

Annie Ryan is a celebrated teacher, director and performer and the founder of The Corn Exchange Theatre Company in Dublin. Over decades she has honed a yoga practice in her rehearsals that creates a nurturing foundation for rigorous collaborative play. Over the last few years, alongside her acting workshops, she has offered creative retreats for artists to delve deeper into their intentions and aspirations. Last Autumn, she began a pay-if-you-like class for performers to nurture themselves through this dark winter of lockdown.

Annie said: “I’m thrilled to be hosting your Coffee Morning next Tuesday. We will begin with a little bit of movement – in your chair or on a mat or cushion on the floor – followed by a really simple guided meditation and a little writing of what’s coming up. After that we’ll make a cup of tea and have some chats.

Have a little think, on your walks outside, about how you’re feeling and what creative seeds may be taking root in you to emerge later in the year. We’ll see if we can tap into the curiosity in us, which is so much more empowering that our worries.”

TDNI and Equity are keen to help and support you and, as always, will share and promote the mental health and wellbeing services available. We look forward to welcoming you all!
