This role is on a contract basis for 1 year.

Can you demonstrate excellence in technical printmaking knowledge and delivery across relief, collagraph, intaglio, lithography, screenprint, monotype and all synthesis of each? Additionally we require some knowledge of textile, plastic, ceramic other surface print methods.
Can you demonstrate experience of excellent organisational skills, stock control, procurement procedures, managing a database of suppliers, coordinating suppliers and managing member requests?
Can you demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, a robust understanding of the integrity of excellent customer service and its importance in a print studio context? Are you at ease in communicating digitally and face to face? You must be competent in explaining processes and procedures in a friendly and welcoming manner, and fully understand and be comfortable with the responsibility of being a day-to-day face of the organisation.
Can you demonstrate a strong track record in the delivery and management of printmaking workshops and exhibitions?
Can you demonstrate experience in reporting to a board, supporting your team, delivering programmes and working independently?
Responsibilities will include:
- Workshop Maintenance – Take care of the studio ensuring all equipment, print materials, tools, cleaning equipment and facilities are in full working order and ready for daily use. Report any breakages or maintenance requirements.
- Efficiency Management – Maximise income and minimise expenditure, develop a culture of efficiency within the studio, encourage a no waste policy, minimise the use of chemicals, research and develop ecologically friendly alternatives.
- Organisational Development – Aid the board and curator in developing programmes and development opportunities for the workshop. Keep up to date and in communication with other printmaking studios in Ireland on the sharing of information and the coordination of intern and residency opportunities.
- Workshop Security – The security of the workshop is a shared responsibility however the technician will hold a managerial role in ensuring health and safety compliance in all areas.
- Covid-19 – The technician will be required to create and manage Covid-19 compliance procedures set out by BPW board prior to reopening the studio to the membership.
- Health and Safety – The technician will be required to keep up to date on health and safety training and implementation and manage certification of the studio equipment and procedures.

*Due to Covid-19 a start date has not been allocated. It is envisaged the studio will reopen some time in Summer 2020 – this position will commence two weeks prior to reopening, dates to be confirmed.
