Are you a professional dancer looking to expand your artistic horizons and explore the rich cultural traditions of Middle Eastern dance?

Professional dancer Mar Decena is offering this exciting opportunity taking place at the MAC, Belfast. Bridges Through Dance is a dynamic, community-driven project supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland’s National Lottery Minority Ethnic Artists Mentoring & Residency Programme (SIAP).

The project is inviting 12 professional dancers to take part in free, immersive training in Bellydance, Saidi, and Dabke. Participants will explore fluid movement chains, improvisation techniques, and deepen their connection to authentic rhythms through sessions with live darbuka music.

This is a brilliant opportunity to engage with new styles, collaborate with peers, and be part of a vibrant, cross-cultural dance experience in Belfast.

What’s on offer:

Who is it for:

  • Dancers with a minimum of 3 years of experience in any dance form.
  • Aged 18+
  • A passion for learning and engaging in new dance forms.
  • Commitment to attending all training sessions and participating in the final performance.
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to a project that promotes cultural understanding and integration.
