In response to a changed environment, and the uncertainty this may bring, Dance Ireland are announcing HATCH 2020.
Dance Ireland understand that the current situation may mean that artists may not be able to access the creative spaces, spend time with collaborators or share outcomes in the same way. This is why, with Hatch 2020, the focus is ensuring resilience: investing in time to think, rebuild or reimagine creative processes in this period of recovery we are undoubtedly facing as a sector, and as a society.
This year, Dance Ireland are offering four awards of €3,000 to invest in and support practice for established artists, and four €500 awards to early career artists to engage in mentoring and support.
Aims and Objectives for the Award
- Provide support for established artists to take time to invest in their practice and space to think, research, and reimagine their work
- Provide opportunities for early career artists to be mentored and supported by those more established in the sector
- Foster innovative thinking and artistic research outside the studio
- Provide support for continuity of practice and connection between artists at a critical time
Deadline for receipt of application and supporting materials is Noon, Friday 22 May 2020.
