An event hosted by Equity’s Deaf, Disabled Members Committee to discuss Access for Artists on stage, screen and anywhere else!
Hosted by Equity’s Northern Ireland National Committee, members and non-members alike are invited to meet Equity’s Deaf and Disabled Committee (DDMC) and invited guests to discuss the important question of how to move from thinking about access to making access happen.
The event will be held in person and online, accessible and with support from online and in-person BSL interpreters, at The Black Box Theatre – Hill Street, Belfast.
Date 18 November, from 5:30pm (panel from 6pm-7:30pm)
Equity member Natalie Amber, Chair of the DDMC, most recently appearing on our screens as Coronation Street’s Shelly Rossington, will chair the event.
The panel event includes Eileen Branagh from Open Arts, Eamonn Devlin from TV production company Triplevision, Brian Mullan of Replay Theatre Company and Paula Clarke, most recently appearing in Richard III as the first Deaf actor performing on the main stage at the Lyric, Belfast.
Together we will examine how engagers can amend terms and conditions to support opportunity and access for performers from the Deaf, Disabled and/or Neurodivergent Communities.
Before the panel, there will be time to chat and mingle, for those who are able to join us in person.
To book your place please select tickets and choose whether you will attend on-line or in person.
