Rob Heaslip is seeking performers for his outdoor production ‘Strawboys’ which is touring Ireland this summer.
Strawboys is a vibrant and energetic outdoor pop-up performance, featuring luminous straw dancers whirling to Balkan inspired beats. The work is a unique spin on the cultural tradition of the strawboys; identified by their ornate straw costumes while out rambling streets, fields, towns and parks, parading their merriment to the joy of onlookers.
Dates are:
w/c July 4th – Rehearsals in Kerry
w/c July 11th – Rehearsals and Touring in Kerry
w/c July 18th – Touring in Clare
w/c July 25th – Touring in Galway
w/c Aug 1st – Touring in Galway
w/c Aug 8th – Touring in Galway
The fee is €750.00 per week. All travel, accommodation and per diems are provided by the company. Those with training in any folk or traditional dances are also encouraged to apply.
