Niamh Flanagan is Executive Director of Theatre and Dance NI and a highly experienced cultural leader with over 30 years’ experience across policy development, intercultural arts, festival management and sector leadership.

Since joining TDNI in 2016, she has led the organisation through significant growth and change, including the 2020 merger that strengthened TDNI’s role as a key support body for the theatre and dance sector.

Niamh brings extensive expertise in advocacy and policy development, and played a central role in coordinating the sector’s response during the COVID-19 pandemic, working with government, funders and partners across the UK and Ireland to secure vital support for artists and organisations.

She oversees a wide range of programmes including INVEST, Spotlight on Theatre and Dance from NI and Creating Safer Spaces, while also contributing to wider sector initiatives including CIISA and the Culture, Arts and Heritage Strategy Taskforce.
