Our annual residency programme offers great opportunities for artists of all disciplines to tap into the resources of Paris and the CCI, as well as being an important means of showcasing Ireland’s dynamic contemporary culture on an international stage.

Since 2015, we have partnered numerous Irish cultural organisations so as to be able to appoint up to forty artist residents every year who form the heart of the Centre Culturel Irlandais’ creative community. Find out more about these partnered residencies below.

Applicants must be Irish citizens or normally resident on the island of Ireland, with professional involvement in creative practice.

The call for applications opens in November and the deadline is at the beginning of January each year, for residencies running from September of the same year to June of the following year. Applicants will be notified of the outcome at the end of March.

The currrent call for applications runs from 22 November 2022 to 12 January 2023.

Applications are made online via their dedicated platform. This is made accessible here from 22 November to 12 January 2023 (5pm GMT).

Applications by post or email cannot be accepted. Please read the terms and conditions for CCI residencies and partner-supported residencies below.

A clear indication of the focus of the residency will be required together with a record of professional achievement: details of publications, exhibitions, performances, compositions, prizes, awards and related aspects of practice, as well as experience of other residencies. Visual artists must have had at least one solo exhibition and writers one published work.

Any familiarity with French culture and language should be indicated.
