Achates Community is a leadership programme for fundraisers and income generation professionals. It is a programme that covers all of the different components to enable to income growth from programme design, evaluation, writing a fundraising strategy, to working with Boards – just about everything.
Designed for professional fundraisers, income generation professionals, producers, artists and CEO’s, it is a programme that recognises that fundraisers are often unacknowledged leaders and will support them in developing their skills in all of these areas as well as in being leaders both of organisations and within organisations who take a purpose-led and audience-informed approach.
Achates Community will go live in October 2024 with an initial 50 x 1-hour Masterclasses which can be followed as a course of dipped into at any time and with new content added constantly. There will be regular live homework Webinars in line with the programme and monthly live leadership sessions as part of the Purposeful Leader leadership programme, as well community spaces where you can discuss live issues with peers.
Membership of Achates Community is £50 (incl. VAT) a month for cultural sector charity employees with a minimum subscription of one year or £500 (incl. VAT) upfront for the year. Membership of Achates Community is on an individual as opposed to organisational basis. This is because they aim to create a level playing field for everyone and believe that major institutions with multiple members shouldn’t be able to command lower rates. However, they also appreciate that whilst they have done their utmost to make membership affordable, not everyone will be able to afford to join so they will also be offering an annual bursary programme.
With an ethical approach, there will be an annual bursary programme which offers a year’s full membership for free from October 2024. In the augural year of Achates Community there are 50 free places across the UK and Ireland with 20 places ringfenced for applicants from England, 10 from Scotland, 10 from Wales and 10 from Northern Ireland.
Anyone can apply for a bursary no matter what your age, background or where you work. They have made the process as simple as possible and everyone who applies will be offered a minimum of a free three-month trial. Assessment will be made on the basis of financial need and a short section articulating what you would like to get from Achates Community and how you would like to apply the learning on a personal or professional basis.
