Art, digitalisation and other stories – a showcase of the exciting new MA in Arts Management arts and cultural research at Queen’s.

Each year QUB celebrate the new research emerging from the Masters in Arts Management and also host a speaker on a relevant topic to practitioners as well as researchers. This year is no different. Alongside students’ new research, they are particularly delighted this year to be joined by Dr Carolina dalla Chiesa. Carolina’s keynote will delve into the relationship between the local and the digital implied in creative and artistic production. She addresses the power of crowdsourcing and dispersed patronage participation to leverage the power of glocal creativity. With a focus on the socio-economic aspects of creative production, Carolina addresses both the artistic and financial reasons implied in creative production and consumption. In line with new forms of funding the arts, mixed and matched forms of funding are suggested as a path ahead to secure sustainable avenues for the arts.

Carolina’s work is informed by, and informs, current practice in contemporary arts organisations and creative businesses and professionals.

The event will be hosted by Dr Anders Rykkja and following the different presentations, a panel chaired by Christine Osborne will respond to an open Q&A. You are also invited for a short reception after the event at 5.30pm.
