Friday 8th March – International Women’s Day

We stand on the shoulders of great activists in this city.

In remembering the legacy of Winifred Carney and Mary Ann McCracken, we look back at the many powerful women who came before us and explore where there is still work to be done.

On International Women’s Day 2024, the day we unveil statues to Winifred Carney and Mary Ann McCracken in the grounds of Belfast City Hall, Kabosh curates a fitting evening of ideas.

Join Kabosh for a panel discussion chaired by freelance broadcaster Lynette Fay, featuring Chouger Maria Doughramajian, community activist and president of Young Refugees in Europe; Dr Myrtle Hill, Social Historian; and Eva Martin, ROSA organiser (ROSA NI – Socialist Feminist Movement).

With poetry from Anesu Mtowa, music from Hex Hue, performances from Charlotte McCurry as Winifred Carney and Carol Moore as Mary Ann McCracken.
