London’s annual screendance festival returns to The Place for its 5th edition this spring – open for submissions now!

Where: The Place, London, UK

When: 12 May 2022

Deadline for applications: 9 December 2022

Frame Rush, London’s annual screendance festival, returns to The Place for its 5th edition this spring.

The festival is organised by the postgraduate students of screendance, currently the only Master’s program of its kind in the world. As a cohort, we are interested in exploring the boundaries of movement-focused filmmaking.

Frame Rush welcomes dance films from every part of the globe, in any genre, from documentary, comedy, animation, narrative or experimental. We strive to make the event as inclusive as possible, and actively welcome films from all backgrounds and communities.

Frame Rush also invites non-screendance filmmakers to re-examine their work and discover if dance is already present in their films. We aim to challenge the conceptions of screendance to further expand the field.

Final deadline: 09 December 2022
Event date: 12 May 2022

If your financial circumstances prevent you from entering a film that matches the event call, please contact us explaining your circumstances and we can offer a waiver.

The 2023 Frame Rush Team is:
Isobel Bridge
Julian Gypens
Alessia Langiano
Cailin Manning
Joshi Martina
Hannah Myers
Brian Toh Xun Hao 杜训豪
Camilla Serrano

The festival is run by the postgraduate students of the world’s only MA in Screendance. If you would like to apply for the MA Screendance, including a chance to run this festival for a year, visit:
