The 2nd round of the UK Levelling Up Fund from the Department for Levelling Up Housing and Communities (DLUHC) has been announced!
The Levelling Up Fund is designed to invest in infrastructure that improves everyday life across the UK. The £4.8 billion fund will support town centre and high street regeneration, local transport projects, and cultural and heritage assets.In round one, there were 11 successful projects in Northern Ireland, totalling £49m. These included a £12.2 million project to regenerate the Dundonald International Ice Bowl in, a £3 million Greenways project in Ards and North Down, and town centre regeneration schemes in Antrim and Glengormley.
The Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities is eager to see more investment into a wider range of projects and organisations across Northern Ireland through the second round of funding.
With culture and heritage as one of the three themes there is a real opportunity here for some major transformational investment initiatives on the scale of £20m -£50m bids.
