Between now and January 7, 2022, WSL will be accepting film and choreography submissions from artists under three headings:

  1. ‘Scratch’ films from first or early filmmakers: This category is for those who want to get creative – to say something with image and movement.  No previous experience is necessary to apply. Films can be up to 10 minutes long.
  2. Screendance films from established filmmakers: This is for artists who have made previous dance films – artists with a voice and vision who are invested in screendance as an art form, or choreographers who choose to expand their choreographic output via film techniques.  Films can be up to 15 minutes long.
  3. Dance pieces, works-in-progress or extracts of longer pieces of choreography (solo, duet, trio or small group): This is for artists who are invested in the craft of professional dance, the body as a performance vehicle, dance as a physical expression of the Art. Emerging or established choreographers may apply, with pieces up to 15 minutes in length.  Please note production and staging will be limited, recorded music (if any) will be required.
