This training will provide producing companies with the knowledge of how to benefit financially from Theatre Tax Relief. The training will cover what the relief is, how is it calculated, time limits, qualifying conditions, touring and non-touring productions, how to claim, income calculation, breaking down expenditure and common issues.
This training is particularly prevalent, with the announcement in the government’s autumn budget that tax reliefs for theatres (touring productions), orchestras, museums, and galleries will be doubled until April 2023, to help support organisations through the COVID crisis.
The session will cover the principles of contract law and practice, including: how to make successful legally binding contractual agreements, what a good contract should contain, an explanation and exploration of contract terms, breaches of contract, cancellations, frustration of contracts and making contracts work for you to build successful business relationships.
Having gained a deeper understanding of contract law and practice, this session will examine the communication and personal skills needed to negotiate effective contractual relationships. It will offer an opportunity to put theories and techniques into practice playing to your own personal strengths and building confidence.
This series is open to anyone over the age of 18. The structure and content of the masterclasses have been developed with TDNI members.
TDNI are committed to the Health & Safety of our staff, members and the general public. If Covid-19 restrictions prohibit the in-person sessions within this series, the training will be rescheduled.
