Due to Covid-19 delays, choreographer Caitlin Barnett seeks one professional male dancer to join the company for 2021 and 2022 performances of Comrades in the Dark.

An exhilarating and visceral portrayal of one man’s attempt to maintain his identity, told through poetry, dance and Irish music. Based on the true story of Bobby Sands’ hunger strike, in 1980s Belfast.

What we are looking for:
– Professional, versatile and dynamic performer with strong contemporary technique, able to pick up and adapt to highly physical choreography quickly.
– Empathic dance artist able to embody different characters and respond well to creative tasks.
– An interest in social-political issues.

Applicants will need to be available for the following dates:
Rehearsals: w/c 6th September & w/c 13th September (London)
Performances: 22nd – 26th September (Belfast)
Performance dates across November 2021 and March 2022.
Rates of pay comply with Equity minimum.

Audition Date: Tuesday 10th August (ONLINE)
The audition will involve performing two short phrases of material that will be sent to applicants in advance, as well as a creative task.
