Accidental is launching a new Writers Circle taking place at Accidental from September 2023 to March 2024.

The Writers Circle will be ideal for writers looking to immerse and develop their work in a safe environment with peer support. You’ll get valuable feedback, have access to peer-readers, get support with your work, grow together as a group and be part of a writing community.

A maximum of eight places are available to ensure people have the opportunity to review others work and have their work reviewed in a safe and constructive environment. Group members must commit to reading each others work in advance of each session, and must come prepared with feedback to generate a substantive discussion.

Aimed for a mix of non-experimental and experimental writers who are working on long pieces of work (novel, novella, memoir). Applicants don’t have to be finished but must be working on a larger piece.

The group will meet once per month on the second Sunday of the month, 2-5pm. Members will have access to an online discussion and sharing platform between meetings to support one another, as well as access to space at Accidental to write as a community on every fourth Sunday afternoon of the month. There’s a small charge of £60 to cover the costs of running the Writers Circle with subsidised places also available if there is a need.

To apply, you will need to complete a short application form and submit a writing sample of 2,000 words (from the piece of work you intend to focus on in the Writing Circle) by August 16th 2023.

This is the first of several artist circles and meet-ups that Accidental will be hosting, alongside our existing Scratch & Open Mic programmes where people can showcase work in progress.
