Barrowland Ballet seek highly skilled contemporary dancers with good acting and improvisation skills – 1 male dancer for Christmas run in Scotland 2023 & 1 female dancer for international touring 2024

Barrowland Ballet are looking for versatile contemporary dance artists confident with a theatrical character role, comfortable learning existing work, confident improvisors and an interest in sensory performance work for neurodiverse audiences including children with complex needs.
Male Role:
This theatrical role was originally created by a Brazilian and includes singing, Capoeria /acrobatic elements and influences of Samba. We seek a highly skilled dancer to take on the role, performing in CATS award winning production The Gift (early years show for families) and The Unexpected Gift (sensory adaptation for children with complex needs).

23rd Nov-24th Dec 2023: Performances, Aberdeen
Female Role:
A highly skilled, youthful female identifying contemporary dancer with good acting skills and precise technique to play daughter role in acclaimed productions Tiger (adult), Tiger Tale (ages 7+) & Playful Tiger (8 young people with complex needs such as autism aged 7-15 years); with international touring in 2024.

18th–31st Mar 2024:Rehearsals, Glasgow
1st-14th April 2024: The Lincoln Centre, NYC
15th Apr-4th May 2024: Possible extended US Tour
30th Oct–10th Nov 2024: ASSITEJ Estonia
Fee and Contract:
ÂŁ600/week plus travel, accommodation & per diems. Barrowland Ballet contracts performers in line with ITC / Equity Agreements for best practice. This is a freelance based contract with opportunity for future touring. Please note: Performers must be eligible to work in the UK.
