Objectives of Fund

The aim of the Fund is to support or commission artists or groups of artists to work with a partner organisation in the development of new or existing artwork(s) or arts project(s).

Value Notes

A total of €1 million is available over a three-year period (2020 to 2023).

Grants of between €5,000 – €15,000 (or the sterling equivalent if the project is based in Northern Ireland) are available.

Average grants will be €10,000.

Artwork(s) / arts project(s) with larger budgets that have secured funds elsewhere are encouraged to apply.

Who Can Apply

Applications must involve an artist or a group of artists working with a partner organisation, such as:

  • A venue or event.
  • An arts organisation.
  • A community organisation.
  • Another funding agency.

The application can be made by either the artist or the organisation, as long as it involves the other partner. A statement of commitment by the applicant’s partner is required for all applications.

Applicants must be aged 18 or older.

Only one application can be submitted by an individual artist, but an artist can be associated with a second application if they are part of a group of artists/collective. It is recommended that partner organisations submit a maximum of one application.

All art forms are eligible to apply to the Fund, including dance, theatre, painting, photography, music, sculpture, film, craft, design, poetry, spoken-word, comedy, literature or ceramics.

Cross-border collaboration is welcomed.

Restrictions

The following are not eligible for funding:

  • General fundraising appeals.
  • Completed projects.
  • Repayment of debt.
  • Rent of permanent premises.
  • Tuition or course fees.
  • Large capital projects (purchase of buildings, land, vehicles or other large fixed assets).
  • Partner organisation staff salaries.
  • Consultancy fees.

Eligible Expenditure

The funding will cover all or part of the project costs.

The funder expects applications to allocate at least 40% of funding to artists fees. Otherwise, this fund should support new or existing artwork(s) / arts projects.

The funding will support:

  • Existing artwork(s) / arts project(s) that enhance the wellbeing of their communities.
  • New artwork(s) / arts project(s) that have enhanced wellbeing/ new connections.
  • Applications that are delivered by or involve professional artists.
  • Existing artwork(s) / arts project(s) that enhance the wellbeing of their communities.
  • New artwork(s) / arts project(s) that have enhanced wellbeing/ new connections
  • Applications that are delivered by or involve professional artists.
  • Applications that aim to engage with an audience or participants

Projects funded in the third round must take place between October 2022 and December 2023.

How To Apply

The deadline for applications to the third and final round is 23 June 2022 (5pm).

Applicants will be informed by email by 31 August 2022.

Projects need to take place between 1 October 2022 and 31 December 2023.
