Alternative Energies showcase, Tuesday 14th December 2021
DU Dance’s new intergenerational dance project in Ballycastle brings together 6 young people aged 15 – 18 years with 8 elders living in the Ballycastle area. Under the guidance of renowned dance facilitator, Dr Philip Johnston, this group work, talk and create together to devise performances that resonate with people of all ages.
The group is delighted to be giving an informal performance to friends and family on Tuesday 14 December at the Ramoan Community Centre.
This project is supported by The Arts & Older People Programme, Arts Council Northern Ireland and The Baring Foundation.
Day of Dance, Sunday 19th December 2021
On Sunday 19 December 2021, DU Dance (NI) will be bringing five of its youth dance groups together for a sharing workshop and performance for families & invited guests.
Over 90 young people and their families will travel from across Northern Ireland to The Lid in Crawfordsburn Country Park for this annual event. They will be joined by the junior and senior Belfast Boys groups, Suteminis and Sutemos from Dungannon and Alternatives from Ballymoney.
Day of Dance is always a fun and lively showcase of the hard work and energy the young people have put in at the weekly classes. This year DU Dance shall embrace the beautiful outdoors and have lots of festive fun with hot chocolate and treats!
