In 2020, in response to a changed environment, Dance Ireland reimagined the shape of the Hatch Award to encourage resilience, connection and creative breathing space. As a sector we are still navigating uncertainty and engaged in recovery, and that is why the Hatch award in 2021 will remain in the same format.
The award will focus on investing in time for artists to think, reflect on and reimagine their creative processes enabling the development of dance as an art-form and the development of dance artists.
Dance Ireland are offering four awards of €3,000 to invest in and support practice for established artists, and four €500 awards to early-career artists to engage in mentoring and support.

This award is open to Dance Ireland Professional Members. This opportunity affords established artists time to invest in their practice and space to think, research, and reimagine their work, and for early-career artists to be mentored and supported by those more established in the sector.
