European Dancehouse Network is organizing an online conference to which artists, cultural practitioners, academics, and local and international policy makers are invited.
The conference on 14 November between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm will coincide with the release and public presentation of EDN’s upcoming research publication.
Sustainability & our responsibility to the environment is at the heart of the EDN project & conference 2022, this strongly aligns with the vision & ambition that Dance Ireland has for the dance sector in Ireland; we invite you to join us and our European colleagues in this conversation.
How can we move? This question is a common thread running through EDN’s 2022 activities. The conference will bring together conversations, thoughts, and actions around the theme of ecological sustainability. The annual online closing event on November 14, 2022, titled “How Can We Move? Ecological Perspectives on Contemporary Dance,” will bring together participants from within and outside the network and the sector, address burning issues for the sector and for society and culture more broadly, and present the results of all annual project activities.
EDN invites you, dance practitioners & professionals, policy makers, and dance lovers, to participate in an online conference designed to get us moving – right in front of our screens and toward a more sustainable future. EDN will share findings and recommendations with the presentation of EDN’s upcoming publication, “Environmental Sustainability in Contemporary Dance: Emerging Issues, Practices and Recommendations.” Along with invited guest speakers, EDN will focus on the environmental aspect of contemporary dance in relation to sustainability, as well as social and ethical issues that will become more prominent in the coming years.
Registration is open to artists, cultural professionals, academics, and local and international decision makers. Registered participants will receive a Zoom link to the email address they provide on 11 November 2022 from firstname.lastname@example.org (please check Spam, Junk or other folders).
The conference is organised with support of EDN member Mercat de les Flors.
