Open call from Liberty Festival: which is seeking bold, innovative, and thought-provoking work by disabled artists* to be part of its 2025 programme. The festival will run from 24–28 September 2025, with events taking place across various venues and public spaces in Wandsworth, and Battersea Arts Centre serving as the central hub.
This opportunity is specifically for disabled artists. This includes “all people who face disableist (including audist or neurotypist) barriers,” or “people who identify themselves as disabled and/or are identified by others as disabled in society.”
Please note: When the organisers refer to “disabled people”, they mean all individuals who face disableist (including audist or neurotypist) barriers, or those who identify as disabled and/or are identified by others as disabled within society. The call is open to a wide range of creative formats, including:
- Live performances
- Screenings
- Interactive events
- Exhibitions or installations
- Talks, workshops, and discussions
- Proposals can be aimed at general audiences or more specific groups, and artists can apply for funding ranging from ÂŁ500 to ÂŁ20,000.
As a guide, Liberty Festival 2025 anticipates commissioning:
- 1 x Headline project: up to ÂŁ20,000
- 2 x Large-scale projects: up to ÂŁ10,000
- 4 x Mid-scale projects: up to ÂŁ5,000
- 3 x Small-scale projects: up to ÂŁ1,500
- 5 x Micro projects: up to ÂŁ500
Applicants should note that projects are expected to be either complete or near completion at the time of applying, with funding primarily supporting presentation costs.
