NYB’s Residential Performance Company is back!
They are looking for dancers, aged between nine and eighteen, to join the 2022 company for a nine-day residential at Elmhurst Ballet School culminating in performances at The Crescent Theatre, Birmingham and Sadler’s Wells, London.
The Performance
The selected dancers will perform in a diverse programme featuring work from a range of professional choreographers including exciting revivals and innovative new works by NYB guest choreographers.

In addition, alumni state that the skills they developed as part of NYB prepared them well for diverse and varied careers beyond the dance profession.
Dancers will:

- work with industry professionals to gain new skills in choreography and contemporary dance

The Crescent Theatre, Birmingham: Thursday 25th – Friday 26th August 2022 (rehearsals from Wednesday 24th August)
Sadler’s Wells, London: Sunday 4th September 2022
THE AUDITION
Auditions can be an intimidating process for dancers, but they are also a key part of life as a professional dancer! To enhance dancers’ skills, their Moving Minds team will provide a short workshop before the audition to help each dancer perform to their full potential. These confidence-building skills will be useful for all future audition experiences.
What the audition will involve:
15-minute Moving Minds workshop focusing on handling nerves and being the best you can be!
90-minute ballet class with a professional teacher.
Online Audition option:
NYB is excited to offer an additional audition that will take place via Zoom. This audition will enable students to participate from their homes or local studios and will help us to reach the widest pool of talent. The audition will include the same content as the in-person session.
Please note that these online auditions will be limited in number to enable us to view dancers fairly. This online opportunity has been created to allow us to offer chances to those who we have previously been unable to reach.
