Privacytopia is a nomadic arts event, travelling to a new EU city each year. The inaugural edition will take place in Ghent, Belgium, in March 2024.

The organisers are inviting creative individuals and/or collectives from diverse backgrounds and disciplines to submit their work for consideration to be showcased in this first edition.

Theme/Concept
A bridge between art and privacy… Privacytopia is an arts festival researching data-usage, data profiling and data monetisation and their implications on individuals and society. It is an initiative by Privacy Salon, a Brussels-based non-profit organisation looking at the social and ethical issues raised with introducing new technologies. The works exhibited at Privacytopia are touching on surveillance, AI, neurotechnology, transhumanism, robotics, deep fake, datafication, hacktivism, digital labour, et al.

Eligibility
This call is open to professional emerging and established artists, from any geographical location.

Artists working in any medium, including but not limited to painting, sculpture, photography, digital art, design, installation, performance, and more, are encouraged to apply as long as the project is already finished and ready for exhibition by the end of the submission period.

Support
An artist fee and transportation costs are covered. The organisation will draft a case-by-case proposal for the selected artist. Upon agreement the collaboration will be confirmed.
