Theatre and Dance NI Professional Development Day

RESCHEDULED: Now on the 23rd January 2025 we are hosting a Professional Development Day with sessions from  Arts & Business NI and Thrive.

There will be 3 sessions throughout the day at The Writers Room in the Crescent Arts Centre. You can choose whether you want to attend 1, 2 or all 3 of the sessions, they must be booked separately.

The Art of the Pitch.

9:30am – 11:30am – Facilitated by Brona Whittaker, Head of Arts, Arts & Business NI Brona will share tips, tricks and explore techniques on how to sell/pitch you and your work through practical action learning. You can book a place for this session here.

Income Generation and Sponsorship.

11:45am – 1:45pm – Facilitated by Brona Whittaker, Head of Arts, Arts & Business NI. Fundraising for a project is a daunting task that can throw up lots of questions. How do you know where to begin or what strategy is best for your project? We’ll look at practical advice on how to fundraise, including developing a case for support and learning how to create a fundraising strategy that works for you, your project, or an organisation. The Role of Audiences

2:30pm – 4:30pm – Facilitated by Fiona Bell, CEO, Thrive. In this conversation led session, you will begin to explore the relationship between audiences and art and the importance of your audience in your creative process. Hear about who audiences are in Northern Ireland and how best to communicate with them. You can book a space for this session here.

We invite you to select the ticket price that best applies to you and your own financial circumstances. Our standard ticket price is usually ÂŁ10 for members or ÂŁ20 for non-members. If you can pay the standard ticket price, this contribution helps us towards sustaining this approach and ensuring affordability for others who cannot meet the recommended price, whilst contributing towards making these important industry training events possible.
