Bright Umbrella in East Belfast is moving from strength to strength with the addition of joint artistic director Patsy Montgomery Hughes to the team. Patsy joins Bright Umbrella with a wealth of experience as a theatre director and the Founder, CEO, and Artistic Director of Green Room Productions NI. She is already making an impact with the introduction of Scratch nights, giving opportunity to theatre makers to share their works in progress.
Scratch Nights have been so successful and popular with audiences and theatre makers alike, that Bright Umbrella are delighted to announce Scratch Nights as a regular feature on their programme. Scratch nights will take place once a month on the 2nd or 3rd Wednesday, schedule permitting.
After much hard work, determination, blood, sweat and tears, the founding Artistic Director of Bright Umbrella, Trevor Gill, is delighted to celebrate the granting of a full bar license to sell alcohol in the theatre. We will be celebrating this success with a series of relaxed musical events called ‘Something for the Weekend’. This is a big step for Bright Umbrella as we continue to grow and become a beacon for theatre in East Belfast.
