Performing Arts Forum (PAF) is inviting tenders from individuals or teams to take on the curatorship of The Gathering 2026, which will take place in Belfast on 26–27 May 2026 at the Lyric Theatre and other city venues.
Since 2005, The Gathering has been a flagship annual event in Ireland’s performing arts calendar, bringing together over 350 artists, arts workers, organisations, and funders for two days of connection, learning, and inspiration.
Role of the Curator(s)
The successful curator(s) will:
- Shape and deliver the artistic programme
- Design and manage the speaker programme
- Act as creative producer of the event
- This could be one individual or a collaborative team.
What’s Involved
PAF want to reimagine and revitalise The Gathering for its return to Belfast by:
- Proposing a compelling artistic programme that could be mixed through the two days.
- Designing an engaging and relevant speaker programme, responding to the needs and interests of the sector.
- Bringing creative vision and flair to the overall production, ensuring that the event is memorable, inclusive, and inspiring.
Fee & Timeline
Fee: €10,000–€12,000 (plus separate programme budget)
Timeline: Work begins autumn 2025, with delivery in May 2026
