Open call for applicants to the UCD Newman Black Box Dance Artist in Residence Scheme 2024.

UCD’s Creative Futures Academy announces an exciting opportunity for artists working in dance through the generous support of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council’s Arts Office. The residency is aimed at supporting a dance artist (working in any style) in need of studio space and with an interest in connecting with UCD’s Creative Futures Academy to test and develop concepts and materials towards the creation of new work.

It provides an artist’s fee of €15,000, inclusive of time, materials, equipment, solo use of the new UCD Newman Black Box performance space for a consecutive period, and access to  audio/visual facilities, the library and other university resources. In addition there will be solo use of the Studio, dlr LexIcon, Dún Laoghaire for three consecutive days in July or August as a development, rehearsal or testing space, or showcase of work in progress. The dates of this residency are 20th February – 13th October 2024, part time, flexible.
