Bursaries

A great way to enhance your skills, network and enjoy new experiences

At Theatre and Dance NI, we offer a variety of small professional development bursaries enabling artists to up-skill, exchange knowledge and build relationships. From youth theatre support and summer school opportunities, to attending training and events here in Northern Ireland, nationally and beyond, we have something to suit all interests, no matter what stage you’re at in your career.

We have provided artists bursaries for festivals including:

  • Belfast International Arts Festival,
  • Dublin Theatre Festival,
  • Dublin Fringe Festival,
  • IETM and,
  • Archa Divadlo.

These bursaries allow artists to see new work, access development and mentoring opportunities, nurture their creative talent, innovate and empower.

For 2024/25, we have introduced Go See Bursaries where artists are supported to attend other festivals and/or residences; enabling artists to extend the work they see, learn from others, exchange knowledge, build future partnerships and raise profile of Northern Irish artists.

Please note: you must be a registered member with Theatre and Dance NI to apply for any of our bursaries.
